I'm now 26.
If I haven't lost the baby fat by now, it's safe to assume that its just fat that I have on me and if I don't actively do something about it. It will STAY.
Taking my cue from Kat and the last time I had gone to confession(which was at the start of Advent). There are a lot of things to be grateful for. I've wanted to have my independence and live by myself. I shouldn't think of it as a hassle or an inconvenience that I have to clean up for myself. Its part of the package. I love being able to do, what I want, when I want in my house. If I don't feel like cleaning up, I don't have to. Of course, it goes without saying that if I don't clean up, it won't clean itself up either.
Remembering what the priest said at confession, the challenge is to fight to remember who I believe in. And of course, taking Kaye's email of beginning again,
"Begin to see yourself as you were
When you were the happiest and strongest you've ever been."
I want to get all that back. This Ash Wednesday, I'm really going to try. I want to go to Mass and tonight, I will make the time to go. I will observe the fasting as taught to me when I was a kid (eating only one full meal a day). I will make the childish sacrifices, giving up chocolate, no eating in between. No snacking. Giving up all those things I'd want to eat. Just only eat at lunch. Nothing more than that. Which is difficult since our office is stocked with food, sweets and everything else you can think of. So its a challenge not to just pick out something to eat. But I'll try to be good, and of course, I'll drink water during the day. I will make more time for the Lord. And, healthy in soul, healthy in body right? So I will make the time to get myself back into shape. I will make this work. And I start, today.
