Happy Tuesday!

Food for thoughts and more....

Actually, this song just puts me in a good mood. Band is so cool.

Cue by Papadosio on Grooveshark

Blog articles I've read that made me pause:

Excerpt:
Consider the story of the boiling frog. It may or may not be true, but the point it makes certainly is. Toss a frog into a pot of boiling water and it instinctively jumps out, self-protectively. Next, place the frog into a pot of cool water. Not surprisingly, it swims around, happily. Now heat the water up very gradually and what does the frog do? It acclimates to untenable circumstances — and slowly cooks. The frog doesn't notice what's happening to him, until it's too late.

Excerpt:
Happiness comes from the intersection of what you love, what you're good at, and what the world needs. We've been told time and again to keep finding the first. Our schools helped developed the second. It's time we put more thought on the third.

sexo, mentiras y samosas

que semana que ha pasada!
it has been emotionally draining. and as it coincided with pmsing badly, everything was amplified by a million.

this week I think can be summed up by loss. on all fronts. some friendships, i think could never be the same again. sadly, the only constant thing in this life is change. when the bridge has been crossed, we will all be marked. forever changed by one event. *sigh* oh, and the lies. the lies unearthed were surreal this past week. no one should ever know their parents as human beings. their mistakes as well as their frustrations and their fears.

luckily, when everything else fails and nothing is making sense, the office decided to order samosas in celebration of friday. i do thank god for the little things that help us smile and encourage us to go forward. while i'm very aware that things can go down hill from here at an alarming pace, i'm hopeful that things can just as well go up :)

gee, thanks Bro

you sure know how to depress a girl. and it doesn't help my current mood:

The Day I Lost My Voice (The Suitcase Song) Lyrics

It's sure as the floor 'neath my toes
And somehow not surprised
That I was superimposed, somehow in this life
And if my friends and my foes would just drop me a line, it'd be nice.

You see love is a drink that goes straight to my head
And time is a lover and I'm caught in her stare
And the sentiment there follows me straight to my bed through the night

I've got my life in a suitcase,
I'm ready to run, run, run away..
I've got no time, 'cause I'm always trying to run, run, run away
'Cause everyday in here feels like it's only a game.
I've got my life in a suitcase, a suitcase, a suitcase...

What could be an anchor here, with a storm on the rise,
When you never meant to see so clear, when smoke gets in your eyes
And the men in the moon never makes his replies
Understood

I've got my life in a suitcase,
I'm ready to run, run, run away..
I've got no time, 'cause I'm always trying to run, run, run away
'Cause everyday in here feels like it's only a game.
I've got my life in a suitcase, a suitcase, a suitcase...

For a moment I was one man and the world made sense
For a moment in this storm made of consequence

I've got my life in a suitcase,
I'm ready to run, run, run away..
I've got no time, 'cause I'm always trying to run, run, run away
'Cause everyday in here feels like it's only a game.
I've got my life in a suitcase, a suitcase, a suitcase...

L-O-S-E-R

I have always been obvious when i have a crush. I'm the worst person in trying to conceal this fact. Sample, does anyone remember ODJ? Ugh, thinking about me it gives me butterflies. Can anyone say DORK?! Seriously, he would appear and I lose all senses. Can't speak coherently, face flushes super red, have the need to run away and hide.I'm like that with all my crushes.
Come my current Office Obsession (OO). I ran into him while I went to get water with GC.
*shakes head* listen, I'll spare you the details. It was AWFUL. Catastrophic. Disastrous? You get the picture.
If not, well, imagine this, OO, looked at me and said, you're so nervous. Calm down.
He must have thought that I was having a heart attack or something. You could say, at least I could speak - well NO. I introduced him to GC and called him a different name. *sinks into chair*.
GC looked at me, and without pity, without any mercy and in front of OO, goes, what's wrong with you?!

I wish I wasn't such a dork. But apparently, (and very obviously), I am.

we are young

yesterday, when i woke up, i was already cold. that was not a good sign.
i ended up being cold all day, with frozen hands and a slightly warm forehead.

today, i woke up slightly better. i've been sleeping past one am the past nights and when 6.30 rolls around, i can barely get out of bed. today was different. if only because at 7.30, Cat, the new girl who was going to clean the house was coming over.

when i left the house to go to work (on time today!), i was overwhelmed with sadness.
this song doesn't help either.

i guess its just one of those days. maybe i'm getting my period or i don't know. i'm really, really sad.
especially at this moment. i was crying last night. today, while in the car and about 10am in the office. luckily, i don't face anyone, just my monitor. i want to crawl into a cave and just weep and get it out of my system.

damn negative feelings.

coke commercial

I'm fairly sure that the coke commercial's are different for each country. Last year, this came out in Italy with a really catchy tune.

It's actually one of the few songs that (lately) put me in a good mood.

...snowing in Rome...

It hasn't snowed that badly in Rome since forever (or since 1986 I've been told). Rome is not a city that snows.  When describing the situation to Kari, she seemed baffled that Rome is not equipped to deal with snow. So, the easiest way to explain this is, would we really have a Snow Plough in Manila?

The very first weekend it snowed. The Saturday before I slipped and hurt my hand....(again)

thank you...

Everything in life is temporary. People you have with you, will not always be there....
So to you, though you may not realize how important you are to me and how much I value being with you...
whenever I hear this song, I'll always remember you and the happy moments shared:

carnival...

something random...
:)
Ale, Sis, Mary and Boo

Ale, Boo and Mary

in search of sun dried tomatoes

In preparation for my upcoming trip back home, my mom has asked for some things and in the end, it was agreed that I'll prepare a small balikbayan box with my mom's request of olive oil, aceto balsamico, etc. I called my kuya to ask if he needed anything. They confirmed the olive oil, aceto balsamic, Jill's special request of short pasta and sun dried tomatoes.

I have the box partially ready, doing the groceries in batches over the past couple of days. I've spent a lot of money (think about USD 500 on groceries) and I need to arrange for the pick up of the box, since it takes about a month to get home, so I wanted to get everything I needed to pack up the box and send it.

So after work today, I stopped by the Conad and found short pasta but I was looking for the sun dried tomatoes since that's the only thing left I wanted to get. I bought other stuff but no tomatoes. Then I stopped by Doc Supermarket hoping that they would have some. In the end, I bought strawberries, olives, turkey, but no damned tomato.

I decided to try one last place, the Pewex over at Gulliver, I saw a super cute skirt for Euro 10! and I just had to buy it.... then I went into the Pewex...but alas! there was no dried tomatoes to be found.

I've been in 3 big supermarkets. I've bought everything else (including a skirt!), can someone please tell me, where the hell can I find sun dried tomatoes?!

March

that was fast. Two months have flown by and all I have seemed to do is whine or abandon the blog... time to get back into shape, in more ways than one....
