so this morning i put julie back into the old car seat she was too big for and called a cab and went to work. while talking to the taxi driver i found out there's a company that replicates car keys and i should ask them how much it would cost and how fast.
it was going to cost 350euro but they would get the tow truck for me and give me back two keys. and they could get it done by friday.
since i knew ciccio was going to dhl the spare key, it would take a week before i received it and so i was thinking of renting a car for a week until the key showed up. but then i didn't know what to do. get new keys? rent a car? cab it all the time? what if in the meantime the keys showed up? i had asked the door man to call the elevator technicians and ask if it was there - at this point you never know. so i took a hail mary pass and just went with it.
i had to decide before lunch time about renting a car. i had tried last night but my card was declined. lesson learnt: if the credit card is declined do not push through with it.
at lunch i reserved a car even though it wasn't confirmed and when i showed up to collect it, they said, i'd have to do a new reservation because the other one was not confirmed. fuck.
i paid a lot of money to rent the car for a week but since i had it i was thinking, well, i don't have to think of this anymore.
at 2 meanne calls me - they found the key. it was indeed there.
fuck.
now i have to give back the car and guess what, there's no cancellation policy. fuck. fuck.fuck.
i fought with them and got my deposit back. took a cab to pick up julie and then went home.
i started the car and yay! it works.
this has been a stressful period mostly because of my stupidity and careless.and the combination of bad luck.
anyway, i hope this is over and i can go back to regular life.
