...feel good songs...

i've been watching VH1's top songs for 2007. They touched on Hey there Delilah and Bubbly. Love songs! Ads, you came into my thoughts. Because you did say that you think of me and Leo when you heard it and I'm not a big fan of Bubbly but in those few seconds that I did hear the song, I was getting all the cute emotions that come with it while thinking of Leo.
I never thought I'd be this happy and this content in my life.
and we haven't even gotten to the happily ever after part yet!
This is just the beginning.
Leo is not a perfect man. I am far from being the perfect woman.
Somehow though we make it work - and with that, we're perfect for each other.

6pm daylight

Its so strange to be going home with the sun still out. Hell, the past couple of weeks have been gray and rainy and depressing as anything. I had forgotten what color the sky was. I saw the clear blue sky and was so surprised.
Anyhoo, I'm feeling a bit down and not even my salami-ritz-cheese is cheering me up.
I got paid! (yipee! unofficially of course, payday isn't until thursday) and I budgeted my salary. I can only play with €50, for APRIL! (ARGH!), deducted all the bills, expenses, etc. and I'm down to that. I'm definitely not enrolling into anything.

Menomale, ho comprato miei libri due, anche tre anni fa.
Comunque, devo studiare da sola.

Happy Easter

I had so much expectations from myself these past 40 days, and as it happens with great expectations that are unfulfilled, there was only disappointment.
I never really got the new start, the fresh start I wanted. I neither died nor resurrected this Easter. I had suffered and struggled generally. Those were only fleeting moments.
Then it dawned on me.
"The Pursuit of Happyness" was shown on Sky and I watched it.
Chris Gardner is a hero who struggled and triumphed. He showed if you want something badly enough and you fight for it hard enough, you will succeed.
I may not had the new life I wanted to achieve, however, this Easter, I greatly appreciated the life I have right now in this moment.
It was due to this film, that I remembered all the little things I take for granted.
I know, that up until the end of the year, I have a job. This job will ensure that I can pay the rent for 2008. It means, I won't be sleeping out on the street or in the car. I have a place to stay. To some, it may not mean much, but if I can't pay the rent, I can't stay. Lately, because of the financial errands I had to take care of, I had to opt not to buy food and just eat once a day. I ate lunch at work. No breakfast, no dinner because I couldn't afford it. At least, I can still have a play to rest, a place to be warm especially this winter period.
I have people who love me unconditionally, and whom I love so greatly back. Leo and his family have been great to me these past months. They wanted me to feel like I still have family when I need them. They celebrated Easter with me today, by taking me out to "family lunch". They knew this day was important and like Christmas and New Year's, they didn't want me to be alone.
Leo is wonderful. He was told that there was a possibility of him being renewed, which means he'll have to be in Brussels until June 2009. Until then, he's still flying every other weekend to come and visit me since I can't leave Italy.
He's been amazing these past months especially with the car disaster. That chapter has hopefully ended. I know I could not have achieved it without his help.
Here's a before and after picture of the Volvo.

Before

...and after...doesn't it look so pretty?

I have my friends. I don't get to hang out with them as often as I'd like, but we'll work around it. I know when we can, we get together and have fun. I have you guys, I know we're physically apart but if you ever really needed me, and I need you, I know we'll always make it through for each other.

My family is doing well in the Philippines. We all have our little issues that needs to be worked around including secrets from each other. Overall, they are healthy and well. they have enough and they're getting by. Lastly, I have my health. I'm a normal, healthy girl. I have a lot to be grateful for and I sincerely do appreciate the blessed life I have. I wish you all this Easter the gift of appreciation - the one you normally experience after you die (like for Easter). Or the one, after things or people get taken away from you. I felt bad I did not step into the Church today. Nevertheless, I don't think I would have had this revelation even if I had gone. Up until this afternoon, I was numb. Regretting slightly the apathy I had towards Lent and the past couple of days. I know now in my heart, even if I didn't go, it was this message, this enlightenment that I should have received. Where it happened, was not as important as actually receiving it. For this, I am indeed lucky.

Thank you Lord for Easter. Happy Easter everyone! Hope you had a good one.

I now feel like a woman....

I never seriously considered it...up until yesterday.
So today, I finally decided to do something about it.
I waxed my mustache!
Couldn't even believe I had one! I knew it was visible to me, but thought that others wouldn't notice. After the beautician stripped off the wax from my face and showed me the hair....I was petrified! I was walking around with a mustache for so long!
I also got a pedicure there, which wasn't too expensive. My toes are now, plumb-ishly dark! And I got my legs and bikini waxed too.
I need more kikay friends here. I had Kari, Angel, and Kat to remind me to be a girl and have my waxing and dose of mani pedi sessions. I don't have that luxury here. Damn.
See my photo's below (courtesy of Photobooth)

see i'm fine on either side!

sorry, i know i'd scared the crap out of you, but i'm tired!

..and the gloves come off...

I'm now slowly understanding what it means to have the gloves off.
To truly get involved and dirty.
To feel with my fingers all that I'm doing.

I sound so late. What I was basically saying, was, so this is what its like to be totally independent and self sufficient - without the short cutes. Really cooking and not using instant or buying food. To be on my knees, scrubbing the house clean. Ironing my clothes. There were aspects wherein I cheated, but now, I know its all on me.
And the saga of my parents left errands are almost over.
Keeping my fingers crossed, I'm hoping that that chapter is finally at an end.
Then maybe, just maybe, I can start thinking of me

Upon further reflection

I'm trying, I really am.
This is what it means to really be independent.
I'm lucky. Others have to deal with more than just themselves, they even have to deal with their families.
Somehow, I'm just in over my head trying so hard to cope.
Trying to have a friend....

not quite me ...

Another Lonely Day
Ben Harper

Yes indeed Im alone again
And here comes emptiness crashing in
Its either love or hate
I cant find in between
Cause Ive been with witches
And I have been with a queen

It wouldnt have worked out any way
So now its just another lonely day
Further along we just may
But for now its just another lonely day

Wish there was something
I could say or do
I can resist anything
But temptation from you
But Id rather walk alone
Than chase you around
Id rather fall myself
Than let you drag me down

It wouldnt have worked out any way
And now its just another lonely day
Further along we just may
But for now its just another lonely day

Yesterday seems like a life ago
Cause the one I love
Today I hardly know
You I held so close in my heart oh dear
Grow further from me
With every fallen tear

It wouldnt have worked out any way
So now its just another lonely day
Further along we just may
But for now its just another lonely day
