I heart Leo

For all Leo's short comings, he is still the most loving, most supportive and most understanding human being alive. And I'm so lucky that he's mine. I love him so so so much.
These past three weeks have been crazy hectic at work, but he's still there cheering me on, understanding, when I'm home late (imagine that my normal working hours are from 8.30-5, but I get home from work at 11pm!!!! Or working Saturdays and Sundays). Helping me stay focused, like when after work I had to rush home to show a girl my apartment as I'm searching for a roommate. Or in between the work day, run to the dentist so he could fix my tooth.
Yesterday, after working until 7pm, I went over to Kristine's house to help her move. From there, I went to Jacquie's farewell drinks. I got home well past 12 and I of course had to get up to go to work today. I'm physically exhausted. Poor Leo, waited up for me last night because I told him I was heading home, and while we were talking, I FELL ASLEEP on him. My poor baby!
Even today when I got disturbing rumours (think anthony part 2), he just shrugged it all off and told me not to think about it again.
He has always been by myside and supportive. He trusts me completely and is faithful.
When he arranged with his friends to go out this weekend, with me included, I told him I'd pass as I didn't feel up to socializing with his friends. I would rather stay home because I had such an exhausting past two weeks without ANY rest. But then when I got an invite to go out with my friends for the same night, it perked my interest. I shyly told him about it and he encouraged me to go. his rationale was, just because I said I wasn't going out with him, doesn't limit me to staying at home. Where on earth could you find a guy so understanding? NEVER would I find a filipino guy so understanding. Issue na yun noh, di lang, away pa! But Leo is so laid back its such a breath of fresh air. Even though its early, he likes to get organized, so we're planning a trip to Menorca!!! :)

recanting

i can't wait to have kids.
since last week, i've been calling my niece almost every day. i'll have abig ass phone bill when it arrives but well, she's worth. only today, my heart stopped. i called her and she was crying! she couldn't even talk properly because she was crying so much. well, it started with their maid. she answered the phone very rudely and very abruptly. informing me first that i had the wrong number. i tried again and before i could even speak, she was *ahem* rude, "angkulit kulit mo, sabi ngang wrong number ka"i've always had a good temper on the phone but with her i just lost it. sinigawan ko talaga. sabi ko, jolene, si grace to, kapatid ng kuya allan mo.she backed down and i brushed away all her excuses. i just asked where my niece was. baby juliana was asleep. i told jolene i'd call back later.
in my anger, i called ate, and told her the whole thing. i even told her, because i have limited time and i can't really do it at work.to tell off jolene.
an hour later, i checked back with ate, she did actually call jolene and had set her straight. half an hour later. i called back juliana. jolene said the baby just woke up. so when jill got the phone she was crying! I couldn't make sense of what she was saying. i ended up reassuring her and told her i'd get her dad to call her.
the next day, i apologized to kuya for panicking over juliana - as it seems na nagising lang yung bata. and of course, i told my kuya about jolene. he started laughing but said that it was pretty bad, so he'll reinforce her answering the phone correctly.

There are bad places to eat too in Rome

Went out with Leo, Emanuele and Daniele last night. Mariachiara was suppose to come and she recommended a place, Birriria Peroni. Last minute, she cancelled on us and we went ahead to the place. The food, honestly, was crappy. I guess we shouldn't have been surprised. Everything on the Menu was cheap.
Their speciality seemed to be sausages. They took extra time and effort when a woman ordered a sausage plate. They turned the dish into something offensive: with all the trimming and dressings, they propped it up like a d**k. And they would ANNOUNCE it's arrival to the table AND THEN WAIT for the person to take their first bite. Nice. real nice. Its a pity I wasn't able to take a photo though.

i'm tired

One of my tasks yesterday involved tracing funds sent by a staff member. We received it on our usd account but the original amounts were euro, at least some anyway. This has been bugging me over the past two days since I didn't fully dedicate my time to investigating in. I woke up this morning and stared at my clock when the alarm rang. I was looking at it for a full two minutes trying to understand what was missing. Until it dawned on me, I was looking for the euro equivalent of 07.00h.

On other thoughts....ever think about the day you might day? In a sudden car crash or just in the fullness of time. Each day we live is most probably the day we'll die. When I die, I want to be aware of the day, and think back to something random about it. Like, if I die tomorrow, I'll know that its Ralph's birthday. Or if I die on 27 February, I'll always remember that as the day I left Manila to move to Rome. I want to make each day of my life memorable, so when the time comes, I have something fond, even for a fleeting moment, to look back to.

Happy Birthday Rashad!

For this event, I didn't bring my camera. I didn't even bring a bag. I just brought my drivers license and money and stuffed it down my pockets. I had wanted to just enjoy myself and since I knew there was going to be clubbing, I had to dress appropriately. I went out and bought a nice brown short sleeved shirt that was plunging. Did I mention it was shinny brown with golden flakes embedded and somewhat see through? Oh yes. I ensured that my assets were well placed. I'm going to enjoy myself this year. I will not end up bitter when I commit myself to family affairs. But I digress. Where was I?
Half way into the day and I was feeling lazy. My laundry was piling up and ironically enough so was my ironing load. I haven't done anything in the house and I got into the zone of watching TV. I did not want to leave. Also, it didn't help that I live far away from the center of town. I was afraid I wasn't going to come out, and flake: which is what I always do.
But I make exceptions for birthdays. I flake for all other occasions except birthdays. I make a big deal out of birthdays. So I went.
It took me almost 45minutes to find parking! I was going to give up, but rationalized that since I had made the effort. I might as well go. It was well after 10 when I had showed up (drinks started at 8pm) I had my grandma coat on, as I wasn't sure when to reveal the Diva in me. I got the chance an hour later since the bar was so small it was packed with Rashad's guests.
The feedback I got was hilarious. Since, I hardly ever go out, and for that matter, dress the part, everyone was wondering what had happened to me. The funniest misconception I received was: did you get a boob job?!
I was standing in the bar from 10pm-2pm and from there we moved on to a club. All this in my 7inch high heel shoes (that goodness, they weren't stilletos!) by 4am, I was limping and had to walk back to the car and drive myself home. It took me a full two weeks to recover from wearing those shoes. In fact, I haven't worn them since then!
It was fun to go out, get drunk, make myself hot and soak up the attention.
Can't wait for the next event!

i know, my posts are really lame, but this is me evolving. i might as well remember when i tried to stop looking like shit.

I'm a girl!

I never thought I'd cross over to knowing how to put on make up, but well, I have!
*squirms* stupid older brother remark
anyhoo...since I'm mastering the make up department, there's one girlish gene i thought i never had: shopping.
Living with my parents until recently, my mom has always bought my clothes or been there with me shopping. Which was a good thing and I miss. She would bring me bigger or smaller sizes if needed. Of course, a trade off would be, her picking out clothes she thought were cute and I could disagree. I've never really, independently shopped.
I hated shopping! Now, if you get dragged around and you're tired and not at all interested, yes, its a chore. However, we need clothes and *squirms again remembering stupid older brothers remark* I don't have any! (more that fits....)
And even though I said, I'd never go shopping during the sales because I can't stand the people and get all clustrophobic: I ventured out yesterday and scored me some clothes!
I bought a pink turtleneck and gray top (yes, I haven't become that fashionable yet) from Artigli for less than €20, each. And at Sisley's I scored 2 cute skirts for €50! I used one of the skirts today at work, and well, the compliments just kept coming!
Yay! I'm learning to make my own "good" judgement for clothes. Good thing for shows like, project runway and Tim Gunns Guide to fashion. They *honestly* helped me see some light.
So, mom, you'd be proud, not only am I shopping for my own clothes that make me look like a girl, but I'd doing it also while on sale!
